Can i eat mock cream when pregnant
You have nothing to worry about as it is a 'mock' cream which is totally shelf stable. Both my brother in laws are bakers and there is no risk of listeria from a sponge cake. Coles sponge cakes are with fresh cream not mock cream. Hopefully they are ok with the fresh cream. Makes me feel better that others have eaten them. I think it would be fine as the cream would be pasteurised? I had one a few weeks ago too. I guess were all in it together. Ive generally been a little bit less cautious with this pregnancy.
I am leaning more towards if you feel like you really want to eat it then it can't be that bad. Maybe it's because we don't have a bakery at our Coles The sponges all have mock cream and aren't even in the refrigerated section. I've tried to be less worried about what I eat this pregnancy but then I google and find out all bad info and then stress.
It makes me feel so much better to hear others in the same situation. Seems that there are so many foods that shouldn't be eaten or there are rules that come with them. My parents are amazed and call it Listeria Hysteria lol. Thanks for all the responses. Appreciate it!! Log in or sign up to post a comment!
